Painting is about the adventure for me. I love nature, storms, scenery, color and texture. My heroes are Milton Avery, David Hockney and Seurat. Most of my paintings are created by memory of places, with photographic resources to refine aspects of them. I do not consider myself a realist or photorealist. Art for me should be poetic and have a story to tell. There should be pathways within a composition and obstacles to get past. Use of innerspace and curves are regular features of my work. It’s Joyful to wonder at what may be around the next turn in Art and in life.
